From the 15th to the 17th of November 2024, the highly anticipated Shanghai Children’s Health & Wellness Fair (CHWF) is set to be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre. As a special event of the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF), the CHWF focuses on the healthy growth of children and is in active alignment with the “Healthy China” initiative.

The event is jointly organised by BolognaFiere China Ltd. and DLG Exhibitions & Events Corporation Limited, in strategic partnership with CCBF. It is supported by the Special Fund for Youth Aesthetic Education of the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the Food Education and Health Industry Branch of CFA, the Self-Care Alliance, and the Shanghai Psychological Service Association. Additional support for the event is generously provided by Zhong’an Online Property Insurance Co., Ltd., Biohalo Medical Technology (Shandong) Co., Ltd., Ching Tak (Hainan) Medical Rehabilitation Centre Management Co. Ltd and other enterprises.

The exhibition will gather leading organisations in psychological rehabilitation, growth and development, vision and oral health from across Shanghai, along with prominent enterprises specialising in children’s health food and supplies. These organisations and businesses are committed to promoting children’s health. Through close cooperation and resource sharing, the organisers create a comprehensive, multi-tiered platform for children’s health with the aim of meeting the aspirations of children across various age groups and health needs for a better life.

In response to the various challenges and confusions parents face in supporting their children’s healthy development, the Shanghai Children’s Health Specialist Week, supported by the Special Fund for Youth Aesthetic Education of the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, is set to make a significant impact. 24 public welfare science popularization activities will bring together presidents, directors and chief physicians of children’s departments in both general and children's specialist hospitals, therapists and rehabilitation experts from psychological and rehabilitation institutions, as well as experts in nutrition and dietetics. Their discussions will cover crucial topics such as: “Why should we focus on rare diseases?”, “Prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents”, “Start from the Heart: Halting Psychological Issues in Childhood”, “Good Eating Habits and Food Education Teaching”, and “AI and Big Data Fostering Children's Healthy Development”. These topics aim to raise awareness of healthy living habits, prevent health problems in all kinds, and build a solid health protection network for children.

The exhibition will also empower children’s health in a diversified manner. The Children’s Health Picture Book Exhibition features a curated selection of 214 best-selling picture books, including internationally acclaimed works such as Children: The Challenge, The Wanderings of Bebe, Everyone is Beautiful, I Fell into a Vacuum Cleaner, and Little Mole and Stars. These engaging and educational picture books themed with health help children explore their identities, understand their emotions, and develop good habits through lively and adorable characters, vibrant colours, and inspiring stories. The “One in a Million” - Sunshine Science Popularization Public Welfare Event “Rare Encounters” Public Science Video and Art Exhibition will present artworks created by patients with rare diseases. These pieces not only reflect their determination to fight against fate but also strive to raise social awareness about rare disease communities. The multi-functional “Warm Station” and “Mother-and-Baby Rooms”, a key initiative by the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, has been upgraded from a simple “breastfeeding station” to a “recharging station”. This transformation aligns with the All-China Federation of Trade Unions’ initiative to “create a family-friendly workplace” and aims to create an energy field brimming with love. "

Children are the driving force of the future, and their health is the cornerstone of public health. As an event dedicated to children’s healthy growth, the CHWF pools a wealth of resources and serves as a bridge for the development of the children's health sector. It offers professional guidance to parents and educators, laying a solid foundation for the healthy growth of children. It is believed that this exhibition is expected to have a lasting impact on children’s health and boost the high-quality development of children’s health initiatives.
