The “One in Million Encounters – Sunshine Science Popularization Public Welfare Campaign 'Beyond Rarity' Public Welfare Science Popularization Video and Painting Exhibition 2025” emerged as a heart-warming highlight of the event, presenting the artistic talent and remarkable resilience of people living with rare diseases. The exhibition featured 29 rare-disease artists and 23 student artists, showcasing a total of 68 works (or sets of works). It revealed the rich inner worlds and life values of rare-disease patients, while fostering cross-sector engagement and raising broader social awareness and support for this community. Among them, the children from Shanghai Minhang Vanke Bilingual School and Shanghai United International School Wanyuan, expressed their heartfelt wishes to the rare-disease community through their innocent brushstrokes after taking part in the rare-disease science-popularisation activities, bringing a touch of warmth and childlike purity to the exhibition.
